Week 65~Welcome Home...

Zona Taboão! (fireside about missionary work)

Haha hey people.

This week was kind of crazy!

Turns out I´m being transferred back to Maria Rosa! What?! And I´m opening an area with Sister Peres whose from Chile. Apprently she´s cool so that´s good because the only thing I asked President Thomas was not to open an area. I don´t think he understood what it means to open an area, but at least I know my way around. And I get to see my recent converts at church all happy so that´s good too. And it´s also going to be my last area which is cool because I already know all the members, so it´ll be a warm going away.

I´m not going to write a lot today, but here´s a pic! (I´ve gotten lazy with taking fotos whoops) Love you guys!

Week 63~Soccer Pro

Hey everyone! It seems like lately the weeks are passing by so fast. Haha everyone say after the mission it seems like it´s a dream. And I guess I´m living the dream. Hah. I have no idea if that actually made sense.

This week we contacted a lot of references and we had some good results. We still weren´t able to bring anyone to church this week, but we were able to find some youth playing soccer on the road this week and we were able to teach them. One of them has already gone to church and they taught me a few soccer tricks. I think I´m going to go pro for the olympics. Lol. #I´mBrasilianNow

This week we also had interviews with President Thomas. Wow he is just the greatest. Such a loving and humble man and his wife too is just amazing. This week we will have a Multi-zone conference and I can´t wait to hear their words of wisdom.

I´m trying to think of a funny story that happened this week, but I´m not remembering anything. But next week for sure will be a much more exciting email. Something I learned this week in Relief Society is that perserverance is the courage to start over. I liked that because usually they just talk about marriage and stuff.

 Thank you for your prayers!

Love,

Week 62~Week of the Olympics

Hey people. Another week flew by so fast I can hardly remember what happened! Hah.

This week we spent the majority of the time finding new people to teach. We contacted a lot of part-member families and we were able to find some success this week. Haha, we also found of family of 13 kids! But as you can see it´s kind of hard to find all of them in the house all at once. But we´re teaching some of them. We didn´t bring anyone to church this week because everyone decided to sleep. Well, other than Renato. But that´s about it.

As for the olympics, (I know everyone wants to know about them) it hasn´t really affected us at all except when we arrive to eat lunch in the members´ houses and eveyone´s got the TV on which is awkward. How is the US doing?  But on the good note, here in Brazil you can collect the new coins they´ve made with olympic printings. I´ve collected 4 so far lol

That´s about it for this week. We´re starting to get to know the area a bit better so that´s good. Let´s see what the next week has in store! Love you all!

Love,

Week 61~On Wednesdays We Eat Feijoada

Hey fam, hey friends.
How´s your week been? Ours was good. This week was Lorenzzo´s baptism and I forgot my camera at the house so forgive me for now pictures this week! But the baptism was great! And now we´re helping Renato progress, so that was a good thing this week.

That family that we found last week didn´t come to church this week again, but they said next week they don´t have an excuse and Jane said that 2 days before we showed up at her door, she prayed to God to have him send someone to show her which church she should go to. We have a knack for showing up at the right place at the right time. Hopefully everything works out so that they can go to church next Sunday.

This week we also found João who was an old investigator of the Elders. He is really into conspiracy theories and is convinced that the catholic church is of the devil, but I got to use all the knowledge that I´ve accumulated about the scriptures to help him understand the Restoration and the Book of Mormon. That was fun. He really liked the Book of Mormon and is going to study it. We marked him for baptism, but it´s been hard to find in him in his house because he works at night and sleeps during the day and lives really far away. But, it´ll work out.

That´s about it for this week! Love you all and thank you for the support! Until next week,

Sister Lockhart
